BUILDING MATERIALS
PROJECT 1 : SPACE OUT
THE MATERIAL CUBE
In this assignment, we are required to explore different materials by creating two cubes using paper based and timber based materials, the aim of this assignment is to allow students to further understand the options of the vast choices of materials we can use to further improve the aesthetics and texture of a form and even emphasizing the space in that particular form. Furthermore, I've chosen to use mounting board as my primary material for the paper based cube because of it's colour contrast from the inside out which could create a difference in spatial feelings where darker colour could give out a more compact and tight space and lighter toned colours could give out a more spatious feeling to the space. As for the wooden cube, I've choosen to use satay sticks, aside from the material, I've decided to arrange my satay stick in a ascending spiral arrangement to show the creativity in manipulating the material.

PROJECT 2 : MATERIALITY OF SPACE
ANALYSIS BOARD
We are required to choose a couple of buildings nearby to research about its building materials and its purposes that benefits the architecture of the building and the environment. Besides, we are required to research about the chemical and physical properties of the materials that are being used to further enhance our understanding towards the materials and its benefits so as its flaws. Plus, after documenting the information that we've concluded, we are also required to create a series of analysis presentation board to conclude and summarise our findings to ease the readers regarding the usage of materials and the purposes it serves in the construction industry. The analysis boards have to be computerise and presentable to the eye to further enhance the reading experience.
